Euthanasia

Euthanasia: The Debate

People advocating the right to life argue that taking away one’s life is like overreaching one’s power acting against god. Increasing concern about control at life's end has generated serious consideration of legalizing the practices. On the other hand, there are those who have raised concerns about the potential abuse of assisted suicide. The question that is often raised is that is it ever ethical to intentionally end a life?

People on both sides of the euthanasia debate mean well and care about the suffering people and want to prevent them from facing pain. The debate is not about a person who should be allowed to end their own life. The debate is about whether it should be legal for someone else to be involved in ending a person’s life.

Consider this: Should doctors discontinue treatment for patients having no quality of life?
